About Village Volunteers
Our Mission
Village Volunteers is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that works in partnership with rural village and capacity-building programs to support the development of sustainable solutions for community survival, education, and growth.
Our Philosophy
We believe development holds when it is led from within the village. Our partner programs are indigenous, community-centric organizations; volunteers and project support help them carry out their own plans rather than imported ones.
Meet the Leadership
Village Volunteers is guided by a Board of Directors and an Advisory Board. Each partner program is led locally — directors like Peter Kithene of the Mama Maria Kenya Clinic know their communities first-hand.
VV Community
Volunteers, partner-program leaders and supporters make up the VV community. Volunteer journals from Kenya, Ghana, India and Nepal appear on the blog, and the newsletter carries field updates between editions.
